Posing a character makes them stand out more, and can be used to show additional skill in rigging. A lot of artists don't even create a rig when positing their characters, they just select the parts they want, turn on soft selection, and rotate them into place (fixing up errors as needed).
So I'd agree with that order if you have experience in the industry--an internship or the like. If it's like, a summer job at McDonalds I wouldn't even bother to list it. If it's something that's not in the industry but does demonstrate some transferable soft skills--say you managed some people--I'd list but put it at the…
Nice! I love the style and colour. I feel for the lighter metal areas, you could have made less dents, or made the dents less soft. I also feel the antennae deformations aren't super well done. Aside from that, I love it!
I dunno. Using zB for a character like this is like taking a nuke to a knife fight. Alternatively you could just model and sculpt this in a soft like blender. In zb just use the model brush, knock out the basic form, subdivide and refine with the sculpt tools.
the cloth seems very regular in fold width and frequency. Try and break it up a little to give it some more visual interest. Also, it looks very soft and muddy at this point. Find some good reference for the type of material you are going for and nail it :) Good start!
Great progress! I don't know what it is but the axe is looking a little....soft. I think you could push the shading on the axe blade and further define the planes of the blades. Here's a paintover if I'm not making sense :) Keep it up, can't wait to see this finished!
Looking good! The concrete blockades look like rubber however, the edges are way too soft and the cracks have the same definition as the clean surface Do you mind sharing how you went for those cardboxes ? How did you generate / apply the normals ?
Overall great piece. one thing that looks off to me are the fingers, they look very soft. Better definition would be a great thing to see. Also the silhouette for the bottom piece feels way too round, some break up would be nice. Keep it up.
Looks great. I'm not sure about his skin looking so soft tho, taking hints from concept he seems to be covered with hard scales. You could probably cover his body with scales or use hard skin animal as reference such as Rhino
Been getting back to the turtle. Quick material pass - still fiddling to get it more similar to the concept. Crits welcome, but be aware its just an initial material pass - its ugly! :poly122: @Genwu - I ended up going with a soft leather tabi for the feet.
