This is coming out really awesome! I agree with lighten up the armor on the tail, it does seem to be darker than what is on the legs. I don't think the vines need to be lightened but some dull highlights to have some tonal shifts would look nice.
Taking part in this as well. Here's my thread : NLC-PyrZern : Female Warrior in Cloth Armor Ref http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c248/ASNZern/NLC-PyrZern_01.jpg Sketch http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c248/ASNZern/NLC-PyrZern_02.jpg
Finished the armor for the jousting game. 3,042 tris, a little higher than I had planned, but it should deform fairly well for what I'll do with it. And I made a sort of coloring book for myself, so that I can rapidly prototype color patterns.
Thanks :) Here are some concepts I made for armor sets for my game :) Still very WIP, I think these will change a lot or might be thrown out entirely. Trying to mix cultures, invent my own stuff a bit - thoughts veryyyy welcome!
Thx Reza for the tip Here's a QoP concept i did for fun. P.S Yea I know there is no way that armor would fit the poly limits. But maybe Valve will one day add some slots to Queen of pain sooo until then ... :D ^Taken
Very cool! I especially like the chain mail loin cloth, and the bone tentacle arm youve got goin on! Whats with the ropes taping its shield to its back? Is that just for back armor since it cant hold a shield with its tentacle arm?
Thanks for your feedback, guys! I think I've finished the highpoly model for the main character. Each knight will have the same body armor, but will have a different helmet. What's the best way to go about making a low poly and getting a clean bake?
I like the visor, but I agree with Ged. It doesn't flow with the rest of the model. The armor has a lot downward-facing, V-shaped details. The lines on the visor are upward-facing. I think if you just flipped the details on it, then it would fit much better.
Thanks for every thing that you noticed! I will think about it. This model I did for render. But I think If some parts(belt, pants, armor on chest) I will make more lowpoly I get model for Gamedev? Thanks a lot for your attention!
These look great! For the latest guy, I suggest giving the shoulder armor thickness and closing them off. Leaving it the way it is feels too flimsy, and even having a low resolution dark underside is better than seeing through to the same texture in most cases.
