Been working on environment for the game past couple days. Still miles to go before we sleep but with speedtree and megascans it's easy to get off with a fast start.
I'm currently hiring for a contract to hire Environment Artist in Seattle, WA. Experience working in Unreal and using SpeedTree are preferred. Email me at brent.dempsey@yoh.com if you're interested.
the difference there is that when Epic buy things they make them better and when Unity buy things they leave them alone This is a shame in the context of Speedtree because it's a contemptuous money grab at a level that even Maya can't get close to
Hi thanks for the reply, I have changed the leaves as the previous ones looked bad however I am still getting this white outline but only with speedtree models not standard static meshs. Here is the texture and alpha map
How you make plants and grass? Are you using Speedtree or some similar program, or you make it "old school" way? What is the best and fastest way to do this?
I'd love to hear how you did the wind on your vegetation? SpeedTree or Vertex Offsetting? If it's vertex offsetting, can you share the techniques you used? <3
Currently playing the snot out of BF4 MP, and as a Sniper I get alot of face time with your work :) and I thought for sure it was Speedtree (A compliment). Kudos man!
Hello folks, I want to share with you my new small landscape project what I did. Most work is done in UE4 and Substance (designer and alchemist). Bushes are done in speedtree. Hope you like it. https://youtu.be/Px6AQ6mRQ7Y
Hi, a little update... the tree was made using speedtree and custom mats, and the wind blows through the grass (using an offset material and a wind direction actor). The terrain is only a test for the tiles i've made. I'll add a well later.
Im gonna use Medusa rock generator for my rocks witch i put inside the cave the forester or speedtree for my trees and grass and 3ds max for my models photoshop, substance painter and quixel suite for my texturing.
