Helllllllllo good people, This wasn a brief that was set by our uni to make a small environment using only 15,000 tri's. The environment had to be modular and include a small number of props (hence the accordion on the church steps!!), most textures are done through CG Textures so big thanks to them but there are a few…
Krycek modeled the base SG550, while I modeled the custom railed handguard along with the flash hider. There is a lot more to come to this, in the form of more attachments and such. The goal is to produce a modular game asset for modding purposes with a number of available modifications, all sourced from other 3D artists…
I will edit the new form I made for 801 to UE4 (I use it for modular things) and fire it off to you, tomorrow probably. It's easy as pie (pun intended) :D PS working on a new modo to UE4 grid form as the power of 2 grid in UE4 could be a thing of the past in the future (no idea why but there it is).
Hi there, well some time ago i bought a great video tutorial on www.3dmotive.com about assets and modular buildings that was really good. Mabe it helps you too. Thay give some sort of enfasis on UDK but hey, assets are assets and you`ll problably will found some good results after.
@kai, heheh thanks Hey, yeah I did! Thanks man :) Thanks slosh, yep you're right about the sharp corners, I'm redoing the whole house using new modular set as I rushed it previously and it got a bit messy, so I'll make sure to bevel the corners this time
If youre doing a separate sheet for the EOTech, why not for the silencer as well? I've always toyed with the idea of making a gun on one sheet and including a myriad of attachments on the other, so I can make a fully modular weapon with just two sheets. Regardless, your HP looks hot. Looking forward to seeing more
If you are making a medieval game you can't just go scan some imaginary village, you would still need to make it. Creating modular designs would be a much better way to make a city than scanning a refurbished medieval house. Cartoon graphics and hand painted textures can't be scanned either.
Guys thats just incredible, but i am curious. Did you build mos eisley as a modular environment or is every house seen there a unique prop? Also the damage on the walls, like on the picture. Are these decals or in the texture of the prop? Keep up the good work and maybe find a character artist to place a storm trooper here…
Currently working on my environment module which will be completed by sunday at the latest as I want to submit it for the Blitz Open days as I feel it best shows my ability at the moment. I will be posted up the modular elements, texture maps and the scene in UDK when it is all done, Any critique would be really useful
I like the idea of modular characters or a horde of something, I've been meaning to make one myself. Right now I think a lot people are busy with the holidays, which is why it's probably best to plan this out now, get in contact with people who want to do it and start it when the new year starts.
