Note that this only works in Max 2008 or Max 2009. If you're on a previous version, you will either need to attach the meshes, or unwrap one part and save out the wireframe UV layout image, and use that as a background. In which case I'd say attach, since it's faster.
I usually add the model to a layer, and set black as the layer color. White model would just be a material setting. You could also change the default wireframe color via preferences. Also, it looks like nice and clean work there, but the pics are a bit small!
Hey man, that rocks. Mind showing an imagine of the McFarlane toy? It'll help with the critiques. I like the colouring - the opacity on the wings is a little blurry and you've got some colour that's floating off the wing unrealistically. Some better shots of the wireframe would be nice too.
Your link is broken, it just redirects you to polycount. Aside from that your work looks really good, the one thing that is bugging me though is the lack of wireframes. I think you could really benefit from having more shots of your wires.
Loving this, i love the colours and all the detail you have on it. My only crit is the door handle, looks to shiny considering this is the area a person will touch most, lil finger prints, sweat marks/grease would look pretty cool maybe. Anychance of a wireframe?
Can you post wireframes of both HiPoly and LoPoly cages, please? 7k seems a little high for a pistol or maybe just me nitpicking?! Although some area's can be improved/revised, like the width which is slightly narrow but overall a close silhouette approximation when compared with a ref.
This is based on a concept done by Florian Dreyer. I wanted to limit myself to using a singular trim sheet instead of doing a high poly sculpt. It was a fun exercise! The full post and wireframe breakdown is on my artstation! https://rahuladvani.artstation.com Final Composite Trim Sheet made with Zbrush and Substance…
What baker, and what are you using to render? Can you give some context... how small or large is this detail? What does the lowpoly wireframe look like, and what does the highpoly look like? Are you using edge padding? Did you see the Sticky topics in this section?
Really solid piece man, the only super mini nitpick I would like to shime in is to show a quad wireframe, the triangulated mesh is not as clear as a quad would be. Ohh also your UV could maybe need some extra padding space of like 3-6 pixels in areas.
In the viewport ? Check "Thick" in unwrap modifier/configure In the editor ? It should be fluo green already. You can chose the color in options>preferences of the unwrap window. Note that the edges color in the unwrap is the wireframe color of your object, so if it's black or gray, you'll have hard time to see them.
