I'm not sure if I understood the question about scale, but isn't that as simple as using the dimensions of real-world skyscrapers? You can study the Shooter Game demo by Epic where they use sci-fi skyscrapers as background objects. It can be downloaded by going to the Learn tab in the Epic Launcher.
Using UE4 to finish off the scene with the Pod Racer, Which is starting to come together. Built a Tileset of Rocks which still need a proper texture and started to block out a Sci Fi shanty town inspired by Rage. Let me know what you guys think
Interesting. What are those models we're looking at? Are those base models or in game models? My biggest concern is your poly use. B/c it's in UDK I'm guessing that this is for a game portfolio. The actual models themselves look pretty cool, and that sci-fi piece looks awesome!
Got myself some sci-fi with Prelude to Foundation by Asimov. Also read "The Complete Robot" by Asimov some time ago which is a bundle-book consisting of around 20 short stories which I would recommend to anyone. Made me want to read more Asimov:P
Blocking in my new scene. ground level will be rundown current day street with shops. Then some giant sci-fi buildings dropped on top. more to come. gonna be a big scene, but sometimes you just gotta aim high. Bonus points to anyone that recognizes the tower in the background.
Looks decent but that bronze sculpted trophy looks like you made it 5 years earlier than the others, definitely cut that one out I am not convinced by your texturing skillls, definitely work on that Try making some weathered props, and no more sci-fi stuff
In the meantime, I've finished the low poly and started the texturing and shader setup in Unreal. Not much time left to finish this one! The environment is from the Unreal "Sci-Fi Bunk" project. I'll be rendering this in UE 4.18 with VXGI (no baked lighting). The two other heads are just for shading reference.
looks a little more interesting. I think I can already spot the EVIL US ARMY plot a mile off though. Also, does anyone else think the 'monsters' title at the end looks like someone whipped it up for the sci fi channel in a few hours?
Well "Let me tell you about my mother" is from Blade Runner where Leon is getting the Voigt-Kampff test, so we're either dealing with sci-fi or noir. Or both. I can't think of any other movies where the two cross over.
I really like it now, a smooth mix of sci-fi and fantasy warrior. I kinda dig the 80's spaceman haircut. I think the checkered pattern looks good, however, it feels like it was just slapped in there. you could probably find a more fitting place for it.
