This is an awesome piece man but the style is wrong for the contest, but i don't think you interested in that aspect. I like the proportions you have. Like you said reduce the length of her arms. That aside I do think you need to work some more of your materials because she is generally too shiney. I would dull the purple…
man i really gotta get into this 'sculpting' thing :P planning to hunt down some super sculpey tommorow. Any recomendations on tools to pick up? Dunno what the real life equivelant of the standard and clay tubes brushes are yet :P Good start btw. Would also say it seems like a very hard surfaced choice for your first go at…
So! I made some serious changes here guys. By popular demand, I removed the blades that were at the base of the blade. Also, I trimmed down the polys to get it under 300, which seems legitimate for a game like WoW (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG!!!!!). Also, I have added the emissive and spec maps that everyone has…
@GC_Vos Thanks for the comment! I'll fatten up the walkways on the fire escapes in the next update, you're right about how thin they are at the moment. Hopefully it'll take some of the noise out of the image too. Just worked on some textures today: some brick and trims. Also started blocking out the side of the building.…
hmm it looks like that room is a solid mesh. it's not the best way of doing it... anyway for texturing I would figure out which parts of the room can use the same texture, and reuse it. Make a list of the materials you need. are the walls concrete, what kind of trims do you need. Can the metal pipes resuse the same metal…
That was great, thanks for sharing. Still need to finish my cracked concrete, I keep adding/experimenting! The new challenge is really exciting though, I'm already thinking of how to lay it out to fit in a square. I guess upper half is front, lower half is back and maybe a trim that covers sides? I'm thinking of it like a…
I think the brightness/woodiness of the pedestals might be competing a bit too much attention wise with the actual models. Perhaps a lower value material such as some sort of dark pearl type material or painted metal might work better for the trim as to not draw the focus away from the model. I could maybe see the wood…
Finally put a little work into a trim sheet I referenced some cool architecture from temples in India and southeast Asia They have such awesome things This piece was made with a height map in mind... but I'm having trouble with it. The very top doesn't parallax well currently... Need to find a way to fix or hide.…
http://pixologic.com/zclassroom/homeroom/lesson/zspheres-getting-started/ Check out the sketch brush. And for that matter, just all the z-sphere tools, there are some handy ones in there. One thing to keep in mind though is this is not something that is always needed. I personally prefer to use good old move tool, snake…
Sword looks pretty good, but I think your box needs more attention. It's also hard to gauge what the scale of this crate is supposed to be. Either it's a huge crate, or those are some very tiny chains (which will disappear if the texture is ever scaled down). Finally, it doesn't make any sense from a functional/story…
