Don't worry about it. The base texture doesn't really matter as it's the final lowest frequency details. Secondly, there is nothing about your base beyond Google image searching "tan stone". It's everything around it that makes it work; a solid mesh, shading, weathering, sun damage, and so on.
@AllinRisks A Ogre Warhammer is a "primitive" weapon. But you have sharp edges in the metal pieces. Yes you creased the edges but the edge stone <> metal is straigth like a blockout mesh. The "3mm" thick metal need a few big hits from the side for a deformation in all dimensions.
This is like a super super super minor crit but it looks like the little stone blocks at the front of the staircase are using the same texture and the big dent is making it a bit obvious. I think that you would be able to just rotate one of them? Idk, its not that big of a deal.
the stepping stone is always portfolio , having connections or starting in a studio in another area will only make it slightly easier . I would definately work on your folio before worrying about your resume, if you work shines i am pretty sure that a gap is fine.
Whoa, cool, I had no idea! I remember being blown away by this game's graphics when it hit the arcades back in the... stone age, I guess? And I played the hell out of it on the Genesis. I think I even recognized a few levels boss levels in there!
Looks cool, man! A few things come to mind though. The cloth looks a little flat at the moment, so it would be nice to get that to really pop by upping the contrast. Also the metal looks very white at the end and reads more like stone to me. Keep going! :)
That pile of stone/brick is way too hi poly. I would just make it one single mesh for the pile and outline it. The bags on the back of the cart look a little high too. Other than what others have said, you're looking pretty good otherwise :)
awesome job on the rabbit, really nice :) The wolf looks nice too but from the chest down to the groin area he has a few soft ridges which read like stone, not fur. Not sure what's causing these effects wthout seeing maps but it caught my eye.
your edges are too sharp. Think of edges like line quality when you draw. You need variation to accent diff areas. From your drawing this looked to be stone. From the model, it looks like metal b/c of the edges being too crisp.
