@Paul - I do try everyday, but the concept I'm planning on using, I'm just in-love with it has to be done! @bibendum - Its just for fun really, the artist will definitely get credited in all images. But I think Lroy meant 'commercial' as if you were to use the concept intending to sell the final sculpt. Which i aren't…
Thanks for the feedback so far, I will fix the issues stated above keep checking back. I think alot of the issue is that I probably rolled over a blending option or something to throw it off. The jagged corners was not intended I think thats a either a bad slice or just me sloppy. I will look into rounding those off.
Iceberg. do you mean each environment will be ice - snow ? not to be a icebreaker.. ( pun intended) but you need level diversity if so ! Take oldschool 2D puzzles as a starting ground. none of em use the same environment the whole game. - anyway read below - - this is loosely based on my interpretation of ur starting text…
Texture work on the robot is very appealing. Model topology seems clean and he a lot of good detail to it. The human head however looks as it was made of plastic (pretty sure there is no plastic in Steampunk universe) and textures on his face look super clean and a bit to simple (unless it intended to mimic Pixar / Disney…
As has been previously asked; what kind of game are you attempting to build here? What engine/ software do you intend to use? Do you have any examples of visual goals you are attempting to achieve? Being unpaid work, what do you see as a reasonable amount of time that an artist would be devoting of themselves into this…
Whoa whoa step back! I don't intend to derail this thread. But I have to ask feanix to explain a bit further his sample colors on a normal sphere to manually paint the normal maps on each leaf Technique! What does this achieve? Please elaborate for this new artist. Cheers Great work btw. and +1 for more bikini models
That's not quite the problem, @jb1456 is just using maya to show how the object is named, the namespace comes from the filename which isn't helpful for the intended workflow. A quick search netted this post, would this help? There's a special note about unchecking group for each object. Failing that, you can edit the obj…
Hi there! Thanks a lot; unfortunately (well, not for me) i just took a big week of holidays back in my country; couldn't update a lot! Just added the grip quickly and tweaked some smoothing of the grip; but i intend to work on that bad boys on my next lunch time! Sorry for the lack of update, will be more pretty soon!…
"anybody who owns a gun does so because they one day intend to use it. there is no such thing as an accidental shooting, or death by firearm. it's a lethal weapon and owning one comes with the responsibility of knowing that." anybody who goes swimming does so because they like to swim. there is no such thing as an…
@macoll Ah, you're right actually... Thanks for that, I hadn't noticed I flipped my grass billboard meshes... so the ones intended for smaller detail were being used for bigger detail instead haha... I've flipped them now... if you still think it's too thick then I'll go back and adjust the model/baked texture :)
