Hi @Kinaya . Great work! I have some inputs categorized. Presentation: 8/10 Your approach of creating a rendered front, flat back, and a face is more than enough for a 3D artist to determine what they're looking at to produce. If you're showcasing a character for gameplay. Facial expressions isn't that relevant. Usually,…
How do you organize your work and stuff? Do you rock it old school with a planner or simple todo list? Or do you use a calendar service like google calendar? Or do you "have an app for that?" List your method plus the context (work, school, or everyday tasks). I'll start things off with why I'm asking. All through pre…
Hi there, Im making some 3D assets than Im rendering out of maya using mental ray, Im then importing them into photoshop to use. Problem is, it keeps giving me a 1-2 pixel black halo around the edges where the alpha starts :-/ Would anybody know how I could get rid of this? many thanks
Hi I'm looking for some advice on how to proceed with a little project I've got on the go. Last year I was a control participant in a study. They took an MRI of my brain and I was able to get the data, then I followed some tutorials on how to convert it into a model. I was able to 3D-print it at full scale!…
@poopipe would you say it's worth the extra time to create the high poly first then and baking it, or should I stick to beveling my low poly assets and tweaking the weighted normals? Any threads you could link about your game? Have tried searching but there's a lot of trash so sift through. I'm the solo 3D artist in my…
I was going to say that you may be picking up on how UDK handles mips and lod, also how the normals are handled. I think that's what I've noticed about UDK, discrepancies in the normals give off a certain look. Look into handplane on polycount. Other than that I'd say build your own shaders, if everything looks like doughy…
I've imported my mesh into UDK. Here's a glamor shot of a few screen grabs I took. I'm starting to work on my scene but am having some difficulty figuring out how I'm going to set the scene. The blue gun can be easily set anywhere, but the orange one has to be plugged in somehow. I'm not sure how I'm going to line that one…
Since I'm new to UDK - I was wondering if anyone knows how to maybe somehow turn on anti -aliasing? or something - in Maya - I see NO seems...But in UDK I see a lot of seems in white from far away - but as I get closer to the object - they get smaller till I get so close they disappear... Anyone know any solutions to this?…

Why do you "have" to find a job so quickly ? It seems kinda weird that you say you'll have to go on a shit low pay job if you find nothing in the CG industry, but at the same time say that you'll work for no money. If money and responsibilities isn't what's pushing you to find something, then what is it ? I wonder for how…
