Robot looks awesome, color scheme and design is great. I agree with Ashervisalis about the design of the legs. It is like the upper body has sharp and well defined lines and the legs are somewhat "rounded" and smooth. It is more noticeable on the first image. Again love the robot in general ;)
I REALLY like the head for A but the stomach and leg armor for B. Perhaps you could combine them. The abdomen armor for A makes it seem more like he has a big belly than rock hard abs. And the silhouette for the legs aren't as dynamic as the B concept.
Ill agree on the proportions, you need to shrink the legs down a tad and for his mid section make it bigger. He has the hour glass feel to his body, so work on on the proportions in the mid section and his legs. Keep up the good work man
there are some sccripts at scriptspot (3dsmax) that do that, maybe with some scripting expierence you can transfer some of that structure to mel. For example I had a uv-script written in mel which I never saw before and was able to learn and transfer some of the concepts of that script.
small update, did a little on the legs, more to come, god i hate modeling technical crap. so boring compaird to organic goodness. i know the inside of the leg is different in the concept, but i got symmetry turned on so the inside and outside are identical at the moment.
At least in MEL it's XgConvertToInteractiveGroom for the first thing, XgmSplineCacheCreate for creating new cache. Easiest way to figure that out is to just do the thing by hand and look up the MEL in script editor - if the command doesn't appear History -> Echo All Commands should help (it will bloat the Script Editor…
I prefer the comic pose. Much more dynamic and interesting, but that's up to you. Also he's pretty thick looking around the mid section, maybe to wide. He doesn't have that much of a V taper that superheroes have. Also his upper legs look very long compared to his lower legs
This looks nice. =] However just 2 things that stood out to me. Head looks too small (when comparing to the concept art this is the case as well) Her legs seem super long. I think if you'd make her hips/legs a bit thicker, that could make it look a bit more natural.
This is a pretty helpful reference (NSFW) http://fineart.sk/sites/default/files/imagecache/node-gallery-display/photos/005/005_2.jpg Note the length of arms and legs, shape and structure of hips, groin and legs. You're not too far off at this point, but there's still a bunch of tweaking to get her looking anatomically…
You could probably save a little space and have less seams if you merged the sides of the belt strip with the front face of it. Since they're already so straight it shouldn't be too bad to merge them together. You could also consider if you wanted too, sneaking more geometry into the actual mesh.
