Yeah LEAN mapping was the first I know of too, thanks for linking to that! So this is an interesting problem that I aimed to briefly talk about with the suggestion to use the ambient occlusion slot. The reality is that normal maps are by nature not actually energy conserving. Where a high poly model may shadow or mask…
My thoughts: Blender is most probably the weakest polygon modeling tool here. Simply because before this spring it couldn`t deal with NGons. And this means that lots of tools were and are missing that relys at NGons. BMesh, the new core, finally brought this long awaited NGon functionality. But it may still last some years…
You might be able to use Layers. You can then probably use timeline to keyframe the layer strengths for an even quicker swap. Just from a quick test though, this seems to work good for preserving masking but not so much for actual details; those could get warped as the other layer nears an extreme. An alternative would be…
I'd say realtime can be where it's at when you're working on small budget projects with one or two people and solo computers. [ame] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zjPiGVSnfI[/ame] I mean to even get close to something with this graphic fidelity with a traditional renderer would take fucking ages to render out. Hours,…
Start with Egoraptor and work your way backwards (buddies of his in his channel links). Videos they've made you'd probably seen before but if you analyze it in the context of what's going in mainstream entertainment industry (studio layoffs, costly student loans, outsourcing, etc.) the fact that they built a loyal…
Thanks a lot for the replies! MiAlx -- Good points about the helper, I agree! I forgot to add the disclaimer in the latest update that he is still only blocked in--I haven't added in his breakdowns and whatnot yet. I'll also continue to fiddle with the timing on the jump off the back, and I might try the loss of balance…
I definitely struggle with this. I (like every other kid in the 90's) was diagnosed with ADD. I took different meds for it for a few years. Fast foward to now..I've seen myself struggle with concentrating more over the past few years. I'm beginning to wonder if I have some mild adult ADD. I have no trouble playing a…
4 things: (I do want to use touch functionalities)- you don't ;) I have 2 tablets with touch and cintiq 24 without this feature. And I recommend to not bother about it. Sometimes it slows down the software, some times cause glitches and jumping on the canvas, switching between pen and touch input also isn't perfect. So…
Hey, thanks for dropping by and weighing in. There's only so much I can do on differentiating them without undermining my core concept, which was that the Rider uses the crab as camouflage and protection. If he stands out from the Crab, it becomes much more obvious that he is not either part of the crab or the crabs baby,…
You can texture one set entirely, then put all the layers into a single folder and copy-paste that into the other texture sets. Depending on how you laid out your UV's, you may need to rotate some of the fill layers. It would make sense then to make sure all wooden boards have their UV's running in the same direction. You…
