Awesome, PS2 stuff! The ring looks great, and I really like the candles/fireplace. The fade to black arches are a nice choice too. And chance you can tell us the specs for this scene? polycount, texture sheet sizes?
His antenna comes across as a joystick instead of antenna. Gir's arms are like robotic tentacles with little hands at the end of them. There are ringed segments that allow his arms to extend, contract, and bend. See? Where are they on your model?
sorry but battle network owns ^^ looks great. Though it seems that the poly count is a bit high, i can see a few places your could drop a few rings and lose a minimal amount of detail, but toolate for that huh?
A new texture per LOD is a really bad idea, unless you've got tons of memory to spare. Zipping round your mesh deleting loops and collapsing rings while avoiding UV borders is the easy way to do it.
I'd heard a different take that made me chuckle: "Is a man not entitled to the sweat from his brow? NO, says the man from Microsoft. It belongs to the Red Ring of Death." Anyway, didn't you know, the Pirate is the friend of the Parasite?
Pun! I do think Max's selection tools are rather clunky though. Aren't there shortcuts for selecting loops or rings? (Modo's double-click edge, Softimage's Alt-click edge, neither requiring you to find buttons.)
Look at the silhouette, and put alpha planes where you want 'hairy edges' to be visible - like the elbows, knees etc. Maybe give him a bit of a lion's mane, with rings of alpha'd polies around his neck and shoulders.
In this final part of our Chaos Destruction series, we take things up a notch by integrating Niagara! You'll learn how to pass custom collision data from Chaos to Niagara, allowing different fractured objects to trigger unique effects upon breaking. We'll also cover force fields, create a custom shader for realistic dust…

Great work here! I agree with the value range being pushed more. Being a pro or working in a respected studio doesn't mean you're infallible. Art is never perfect. On a more technical note, atmosphere generally has little to do with not using the entire or almost full value range. Look up "foggy portait" on google images…
