I would also work on ur materials a bit more. The leather jacket is almost as specular as the chest armor. Also, while the metal is very similar in value and color in the concept, I would break it up more on ur model for interest.
Cool! I like the line drawing. Only the armor seems a little funny because it reads quite turkey/chicken haha - though maybe that's what you were going for? I'd go for something either a bit more curvy or pointy.
Finally had some time to work on the armor block-out. I did some simple lines on top to give an idea of where I'm going with it. On-wards! :D (EDIT) (started from scratch, didn't like where this was going :D )
that looks really awesome man! Fantastic job :) . My only crit would be that it's maybe a bit inconsistent with where you painted shadows and where you didn't (like the floating armor bits at his belt vs the ones at his shoulders).
I'm loving the viking facial hair and belt buckle! The metal plates around his waist don't make much sense though. They'd need to be obviously attached to one or two pieces of leather to make sense as armor. Keep it up!
Excluding some greebles here and there, I'm pretty much done with the high poly. I also noticed how constricting it is where the gun and shield are connected to the shoulder armor. I'm tempted to try and change it to give it more leeway. On to the Low Poly!
It`s taking me a while, but I`m slowly advancing. There`s a lot I still need to add to the mid section of the armor, cloth pieces to remake and old models to rebake and retexture. It`ll take me a while to finish this one.
Looks good! If you want to take it a bit further can check out the way this guy handled his holdeen armor. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?178440-Holdeen-s-Max-Real-Time&p=1024759&viewfull=1#post1024759
This week's course is the reflective material, such as armor. The given concept and model I've made so far. I'm going to create more detail elements and organic shape hard surface. Here is the given concept. The model I've done so far:
tits is right... the arms are more solid in the concept and the armor piece of the lower arm has a more drastic curce to it i would really try to get that volume transitions lower and upper arm as foot right that gives the concept a lot of character
