The late submission thing is fine, the thread was created on the 8th so there should be some wiggle room for the deadline so we get a full month, especially since the December thread was just created a couple days ago too. Oxhide, Tvi doesn't spend all his time on the forums so its hard for him to spend time going through…
Hi alexes. So I really like the car stuff! In my opinion the texture for the honda is really nice! ;) Only thing which bothers my eye is the white spot on the back window.. what is this? ^^ I agree with mr_ace, put some pictures in without wireframes. I also agree on not using a demo reel. Well maybe it's just a personal…
I agree with Ged. Zbrush is great for quick, stream of conscious concepting without artwork, but I can see how that wouldn't work in a production environment wher ethe concept art is provided. I generally start with a mesh from Maya, using the crease tool to keep corners crisp without adding loops so that Zbrush subdivides…
Maybe you know this, but: use the raster for keeping your proportions in check. Evelate it to 0, setup your transpose units to 1 Square = 1 Head. Now you should have the Z Axis slicing your model in left right and X/Y meeting at the feet. Now you can use an array of 2 wide and 8 high squares to frame your figure. Also go…
July 1st, 2018 Was working on the usual high poly to low poly baking, when it dawned on me. Can just bypass the high poly & bakes & just remap to a trim sheet instead. At least for common assets, and reserve baking for hero props. This should free up some overhead and speed up process. https://youtu.be/dGffytWd4ag…
Here is my final. This is my first contest and I worked really hard in order to be ready on December 9th. I didn’t take it quite well when I read about the deadline extension and lost my temper for a moment..I won’t lie :) December 11th 11:59pm is December 12th 8 a.m here in France. I started a way wider resolution render…
what do you have the memory settings set to in performance pior? In previous versions of PS I would never crank it too high, but i read some stuff saying that CS4 will work a lot better when it is set between 85 and 90% memory usage. I havent quite figured out the scratch disc stuff, but if you try setting it to something…
I still would like to think there's more hardware efficient ways of doing what Kevin's done. Also, Kev, this picture here has a shadow error on the bottom left side of the dome. While we're on the dome - I take it this is just a beauty shot of the highpoly work, ya? It wasn't built like this when baked down, right? It's a…
ugh... a 30 inch x 40 inch drawing that should take a month+ and only getting in a couple of 4hr sessions + space case model + bastard of a prof == crazy stressed snemmy... body shading is faked as well as hair. still need to add the botanical background. it is 10:22am.. this is due at 3pm today. ARGH!!!!! and i have a…
Thanks for the feedback Pixelpatron! I agree, because of the size and shapes of the rock assets, the scene feels "noiser" than it needs to be, so I've worked on reshaping and resizing a few of the rock assets. Update 1.1 The week began with "pushing" back the level of details on the rock models, and in UE4 it became easier…
