Yea it's always a bit of a demote when that happens, I force myself to seek out threads that have either no posts or a very small amount and comment on them. Thanks :D
I do like 4, although I'd say 10 has a nice shape for forming a diagonal composition and emphasizes the fact that it's supposed to be an observatory with the amount of negative space inbetween.
Watch out on the texture with the amount of repeating details you use in the diffuse. If you are going to uniquely map a model its a complete waste of resolution to have copied over details.
Yes, as said MoP, good UVs optimize the indexed vertices amount and helps having a better texel repartition. Even if seams are less visible with B3D, they're still here.
We're getting into complicated territory here, but is there some minimum amount of money I need to have made off a piece of software to be able to deduct it as a work expense on my taxes?
Quite nice...currently looks like everything was chamferred the same amount though...vary it up; the gun is made from a few different materials (metal, hard rubber, etc.)
Also just picked this pack up from the remnants of my paypal account (~£35... which in retrospect is still a very stingy amount for all these games). Awesome stuff :D
Doesn't the Intuos come with different textured tips that provide some amount of resistance like pen/paper does? I honestly don't know, I have a Graphire instead.
I wouldn't spend any more than the amount needed to upgrade your graphics card. But if you're happy with your current setup, I would save all the money.
This is really inspirational work. A good amount of detail without having anything overdone. You obviously thought of the main structure before sweating any small stuff. Good job!
