2000 drawcalls in an example frame: You just added 4000 more shader instructions to your shading pass. Not insignificant on old hardware. -

Why not just spend $1/2K on a real good 1080p DLP/SXRD set?.. My 50" KDS-50A2000 was $2200 and it's great. -
