Sub-d recover app: www.mariussilaghi.com/products/subd-recovery I've found a maxscript similar behavior, sub-d reverse: *MOD EDIT: download link removed; please do a bit of research what you're posting, subdivision reversion is another paid-for plugin from the same author:…
All you need to do for sharper edges is simply use a smaller grid, IE: more sides/segments. The exact modeling methods are not important, nor is matching your mesh exactly, just the theory behind having enough geometry to support the shape, when you understand that, you can simply apply the theory to your object, and other…
Thanks for the help @Cake_Seller. Yes, if I crank up the bevel modifier and subdivision surface modifier the issue becomes pretty much unnoticeable, but I am still concerned I that I have sub-optimal topology and am just covering it up with lots of extra geometry from the modifiers. Is there a better way to make the this…
Can anyone post an image of the first frame of each of the three videos which show the shape sathe makes in that particular? (i have to be cautious of what im downloading as im on dial-up :/) Also, in the third part, how does sathe apply a standard blinn material to the objects without opening up the material editor? He…
does anyone know if there is a max plugin that does solid chamfering for max 2009? this kind of chamfer: very useful for sub-d but also very useful if you just quickly want to normal map soft edges without actually sub-d modeling anything (select all hard edges on your model, solid chamfer them and give the object one…
Not a Max user, but in Maya you can select all them pieces and combine them with the combine command, but may I ask you why you want to combine these pieces ? Because in such a complex project it can come really handy to hide/freeze this or that piece, make it simpler for your eyes so you can concentrate on one part, IMO…
Have you seperated the Hood from the car? they are 2 different pieces and looking at your model right now, it looks like one piece.. 1. looking at your topology, your edges are not quite even. To keep a nice and good curve, they need to be evenly distributed. Yours are not 2. This will make the curve you have and need,…
Hi guys newbie here trying to replicate a retinal scanner that I imported (left w/selected element): The purple object (right) is mine at it's current state. I tried edge modeling using local orientation but scaling the edges in doesn't work out well. Could someone point me in the right direction of what to do? Angled face…
Hello again guys! @hanabirano and @FrankPolygon thank you a lot for your aswers!! I really helped me a lot! I spend a lot of time searching on the internet, and checked a lot of posts in this same thread but I coudn't find a solution so I decided to post for some help. I always knew that I shoud practice more my modeling…
Thanks r4ptur3. The images are working now. :) I tried your suggestion and it does look a bit better but still not perfect. ( I am not trying to make it look perfect just to understand what am I doing wrong) it is very minimal pinching but I have to add a lot of this so at the end it will look like a mess. What else could…
