Hi guys, thought id join in with this; not sure where I'm headed with this yet, need to research some sci-fi. So far ive baked a few base maps to get started, and tested out color/alpha map with the Magazine.
My intention is to model objects like trash cans, plastic bags etc. Softimage for the modelling and mudbox for the details is the plan. I start out with a ventilation system for a sci-fi game I started doodling in softimage today without a clear plan:
Hey there, first time participating in this kind a challenge. Still don't have clear concept in mind but I would like to mix European and US 90's look with some sci fi spin will see how that goes :) Best of luck to everyone.
Some images from my newest texture set I'm working on. This is a dirty metal sci-fi looking texture set. All textures are modeled in 3ds Max and textured in Substance Painter, screenshots are taken from Substance Painter on a flat plane.
So I can't do any 3D models because my laptop cant bear it, time to make some concepts and illustrations! Here is a progress and final image of a sci fi witch. Here is progress pic: Moar concept: And a dark skin tone study
Wow, this is hard. I've only done some sci-fi environment where almost everything I did had symmetri so I'm not that used to this. But that is good, I'm here to learn! (: Should I switch tower totaly? Or am I going in the right direction with this?
New Xwing NOLF3 Remake of Original Doom (with the same style, not the crap sci-fi doom3 style). New Outcast Dark forces 3 Remake of Syndicate (DONT make it an fps for the sweet love of god!) New or Remakes of Heretic series (pls pls pls!)
Hey man, great piece! I like the sci-fi-ishy look of it with the hand scanner. But the grooves on the front door of the container look a bit warped, not straight. Other than that I would try some other color pallet with it, or maybe not, your choice :D
Thanks guys! SuicidePanda you're totally right! I'm working on a second piece right now, is going to be a sci-fi vehicle in a warehouse maybe. I think in this way I can show my skills on different kind of assets and materials. Thanks for your advice!
Its looking nice man. One critique that's probably not what everyone thinks; I know you're going for a bright sci-fi scene but goddamn those lights are blindingly bright. maybe try reducing them bit and turn the global illumination up a touch
