I think the problem with the posture isn't the curve in the back exactly. Its that the front of the body doesn't reflect that kind of curve in the back. There is simply no way you could contort your back like that without the rib cage coming way up and the shoulders back majorly. I really dig the style tho, I would just…
Hello, could someone please share links to some other CGI forums for sharing information/tips and tricks (not warez in particular), with big traffic (that means a lot of people who share knowledge about cgi)? I know about: forums.cgsociety.org http://www.polycount.com http://www.evermotion.org/vbulletin/ (altough im not…
Hey Justin, you're totally right. I should have tested that guy more, it's the only one I haven't used in production much :/ I've rewritten it to be a bit faster, though it's still pretty slow. I think I may need to do a C++ plugin for this one; the big problem is that it uses nested loops when checking distance, and the…
Update! A friend of mine was kind enough to sit down with me for a few hours and show me how to approach Cat Rigging for the mechs. With the way I had prepared the model prior, it was a simple process to skin each element to its assigned bone for later posing. An example of the established Rig can be seen in the image…
Big Update. Finishing up this piece. Still needs a rig and pose and light job. But I'm pretty happy with where its at right now. Hair was created in Xgen then converted to hair cards. Hey, been a while since I posted on Polycount. Here's an older project I decided to finish up. Arranging UVs and will do the bakes hopefully…
Ok...decided. I'm gonna buy the i5 2500K rig with the 8GB ram and GTX460. It should blow my socks clean off. Will look into using my old machine as a render farm as well. out of interest. What's the best way to plug an old hard drive into a new rig for Data swapping without opening the case and messing about. I don't want…
Thanks slosh. Rigging is what I really struggle with (mostly from a lack of practice), and I was working on a rig for a character I had made. For some reason I did not make all the bones for the fingers, and I did not notice this until I had finish skin weighting everything but the fingers. The thought of having to redo it…
I'm with rens. This is bulky in a vague way, but lacks the shapes to look like a strong woman, and many of the shapes from the concept. shitty paintover (drawover?) -- Major things to look out for: -Skeletal structure! Women have leaner skeletons than men. Muscle then curves into these set points. Shoulders are WAYY too…
Update on texturing. Crits always welcome! Thanks! What I like -I think the base materials looks quite nice. It's nothing fancy. It basically consists of semi rusted steel and dust/dirt. -The way materials reflect the lights, it looks wet and shiny. I think looks interesting, because it's exaggerating the shadows which…
Much better! It reads a lot better now. Better music. Get rid of the green shirted guy with the club. Definitely your weakest piece (especially the run). And the rig stuff is just a tad too fast. People speed theirs up, but i think you took it a little far. keep it up!
