Thanks everyone for the kind words, sadly though I'll be leaning more towards animation for school, there are much more opportunities locally for animators, I won't be required to texture this scene. All we are required to do is model and UV it for now, if I was majoring more in modeling I would probably end up texturing…
If you were local to me in Austin I'd totally be up to collaborate on a custom built interface! See if there's any hackerspace/makerspace groups in your area, it isn't that hard to fabricate the circuitry needed. Foot pedals, dials, or a custom made control pad for your good hand could be fabricated without too much fuss.
Another update, got all the colors on and working on the localized stuff like the weapons and rotor blades. I have a soft spec all over and a temp AO so far. I have a few areas on the mesh I'd like to attend to like the step under the window, the exhausts for the engine and on the tail. Anyways here's the Update
The one downside, for me at least, to doing the midnight release is that when I get home everyone's already asleep so I can't play the game at a decent volume... so I have to wait til the next evening to play.... at least the local Gamestop is like Cheers, everyone knows my name and is always friendly. :)
I started an online eCommerce business and got the name copyrighted. Went down to the local government office and paid i think it was $50 to do so. Bought the domain first then went down and they check make sure its not taken. You get a tax id number and have to report taxes on sales every quarterly.
Dunno where you got that 3.40 figure for gas here in the US but I'm paying 4 bucks a gallon locally and it's still going up. Granted its nowhere near that 9 dollar number but gas/petrol here in the states is becoming a huge problem and is not nearly as over-hyped as many think the media is making it out to be.
yes, I am already taking hobby drawing class at local fine Art College (but doesnt looks like it gonna help, teacher dont teach much LOL). but I do have lots of training DVDs, ... I think , its now high time to push myself practicing... Really Appreciate your suggestions :)
Even with just bakes and hair this is already great. Eager to see how you will tackle the eyes among other things. Also, the renders are looking really nice, too. Is that just local reflection creating the bounce light (inner side of her left arm) or does TB3 actually have another solution for indirect lighting?
Things got a bit interesting. My schedule changed a lot and now I am taking an Intro to Modeling with Maya class at a local community college. I am wondering if I should put the project aside and concentrate on the class...with Maya instead of Modo. I am pretty sure the skills can be easily transferred.
And as Warren already pointed out how important connections are: go to networking events in your local area and national / international if you can afford it. GDC is an awesome opportunity to start networking. Apply as a volunteer if you can't afford the tickets. I did that at the GDC Europe and I can tell you it is really…
