Oh damn. Jordan comin at rens' neck like that! Anyway after reading the first few posts it made people change their mind, and now people are fighting, so I'm not watching that video. I'm gonna keep going towards my goal.
Comin' up on 23 years of CG here, still loving it. Sometimes age discrimination kicks in here and there. Just have to beat it back with a stick, show them I still have that eagerness, that passion to do the best. Kudos to you Mike for sticking with it!
The teeth seem a bit conical; try narrowing them and re-arranging the vertices to give a sickle-shaped profile. On the eyes, keep in mind that the iris for most creatures cover much more of the eye than those of humans. Take a look at a modern descendant:
yo, sorry i havnt posted back up in a couple of days, ive been busy with school stuff. Put another hr or 2 into the dude, check it, still got a bit more to go. thanks for the crits guys, keep em comin
That looks wicked Glen! I think you could jazz up the shoulderpads, maybe the kneepads just a TAD to match the helmet. The shoulderpads especially seem just a little out of place. Amazing concept nonetheless dude, keep the updates comin'.
I agree with the above, the Helmet is great! :) The pistols need a bit of work though. It looks like the grip, the top of the gun, and the bullet drum (whatever its called) need more detail. The grips especially need some lovin'. Keep it comin!
Thanks guys, keep em comin! @Slipsius - Yeah iAnimate and AnimSchool both look good, but as I mentioned, I can only secure student funding here in the UK for Animation Mentor since they are the only 'Animation School' who are accredited by the UK govt.
Digging it! You have a really nice style. I love the lighting in the more rendered pieces and your sketches. I think i'm going to have to try some mech silouhettes with copic markers and ballpoint (since I don't have gouache). Cheers :)
Ok, so here's an update! Tweaked a few things here and there. Also, after careful consideration I've decided the only way to make the spin dial appear accurate is to model out the holes as actual geometry. Low poly comin' up! Uploaded with ImageShack.us
The design is overall pretty nice, it's just the arms look a bit too tight and high for my liking. I'd say if you wanted lower the shoulders a bit to a more relaxed look and maybe extend the hands and elbows a bit as well. Anyway, keep it comin'!
