Sick! Nice sculpt on the rock house! I think you should add more interesting things happening in this cave. ATM it seems kind of bare. Maybe make it more fantasy like (sci fi or medieval) to give it more style?
• Think more about back story of this weapon. • Look on photos of real weapon and try to avoid putting all damage and weathering effects randomly. • Do not think that if it is a sci-fi weapon, then you can not compare it to the damage on weapon from life.
Solid modeling so far. I agree with Jade you need some more interestd shapes. Looks like any other sci-fi sniper to me. Also, it looks as if it would be very awkward to hold.. But keep at it, ill be watching
Unity's definitely workable, plus it won't undo the effects of your vacation. Here's a generic sci-fi corridor to try and convince you. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_O74nTYvcQ"]3d scifi corridor rendered in Unity - YouTube[/ame]
Why does everyone on polycount make sci-fi hallways hahaha. This is great though in all seriousness. I really love the modularity and texture work. Danpaz is right though, crank up the contrast a bit and give that scene some drama.
I think in some other threads some people realized seams were more apparent when "indirect normal influence" was turned up. I can't remember the thread now, but it had some sci fi looking barrel thing.
Sounds like your off to a great start :) Also aiming for a studio you think you could realistically work for is a good way to design a portfolio peice in the style of that studio to show them you can do there style and are interested in there studio specifically. This is in no way a requirement. Modern/Realistic stuff is…
I just enjoy designing 3d stuff mostly sci fi, industrial , architectural , no organic or char. not a game ready artist but good imagination and work well with groups. not looking for paid work. https://www.artstation.com/artist/bnb/albums/all
evilpixills:The noise is noted, thanks. The algae you see are actually an alpha'd layer of plants/algae hanging from the dock, but the lighting really messed that up! I see that now, it really gives the wrong impression. I could darken that texture, that'd probably help a lot. Thanks for pointing that out. On the front…
Vitaly Bulgarov offers some cool sci-fi megastructure kitbash stuff. You can spot them in quite a lot of concept art on Artstation. Haven't tried them yet but everything he does looks solid. https://vitalybulgarov.com/3d-kitbash/
