Hello Hello everybody, this here is my first post on Polycount. To be honest, I have no idea how I heard of this place. I've been scanning posts, looking at artwork and reading some for a while now. I live in the Vancouver area, and I'm a student in Game Art and Design at the Art Institute of Burnaby. Looking forward to…
Hey guys, last night I've got the students version of 3ds Max ...and my question is : how do I export the model from 3ds Max to Zbrush? I can import the model from Zbrush using GoZ but I can't find the GoZ button in 3dsMax :( Maya was kinda easy because there was a GoZ button.. Thanks!
Hey, I'm a grad student studying game art, looking to begin taking part in the community and working on a bigger project. I hear that modding is a good way to do that, but I don't know where to begin looking for modders or mod projects that might be able to use someone like me. Can anyone point me in a particular direction?
Hey everyone, first post thought I would introduce myself with some of the stuff I've done. I'm still a student but I'm finishing up and getting ready to hit the world. Thanks everyone~ I don't mind critiques but all of these are stuff I've already done :) Click here for link to artstation -…
While this is a very good suggestion, I specifically made this model to understand the whole workflow of game asset creation and how baking works. I am just a student and this will go to my portfolio but this seems like a very interesting thing to do and I will try this too. Will get back to you once I try this.
Playground Games Art Test (10K Tris) or under. This is an art test live project that I set my students. They have to make low poly fruit cart with low resolution textures and learn how to get the most out of every pixel. It was fun doing something old school for a change.
Oh really? I thought xgen was a movie level only type of thing. Ideally, I'd like to stick with things I can use in Maya LT, as I only have a student license of the full Maya, but I'll check xgen out anyway just to see what can be done with that.
Lol we are still students aspiring to work one day amongst you guys ODOW. It's normal if we seem hot-headed, naive, stubborn and sometimes cocky on certain subjects... Just be patient with us, we will get to your level of maturity the day we get our place inside..
Haha Good one. Hey guys, take it easy there. It's just funny to see people buying a product and then get deceived to see lots of stuff not working properly. Amd yes, I'm a still a student who lives at his parent's so 20$ is alot, 2 hours of minimum wage work...
Brilliant work in that game, I'd hug you for doing a great job on that game, but I'm in the states :C Is there any chance we could see a bit of your process? I'd imagine it might be standard fare for the industry, but I'm still a student and I was thoroughly impressed with the handling of materials and scale in the game.
