Neat work. I tried scrolling Romeck's X feed to find the specific concept you're working from, but couldn't find it? It would be a good idea to drag-n-drop the concept into your OP, just so people can understand where you're going, and so we can provide relevant feedback. Are you seeking feedback? Also, what's the end…
3DCoat is a pretty good alternative - especially for the price and functions that go beyond 3d paint. It paints a little differently than photoshop but I've found something appealing about the brushes - to the point where I find myself painting stuff in 3dcoat that I could easily do in photoshop.
Friend and co worker Matt Kohr decided to take some personal time to do a color paint over concept for me. I appreciate and loved the advice, so I decided to implement the colors into the scene. I think that it moved the comp from the Normandy to Omega 5 and I love it <--- (Mass Effect terms) P.S. Never mind the red dot in…
Hey Woogity, Yeah the paintover was literally just a print screen paint over so the chest is just an idea of what might be on there but obviously not the final design. I was thinking more of a tribal tattoo with a bullseye implemented (important as its the reasoning behind the back of chest armour). The gloves will be…
Hello fellow artists! I'm in a dead end and would greatly appreciate if someone can help. I have made a tree, where lower half is sculpted and unique texture is made for in Painter and upper half is not sculpted and would use a tilable texture. I also have 2 tree bark textures I'd like to blend between in UE4. One texture…
That's the thing though, you don't need to pay significantly more to get a monitor that doesn't have trash viewing angles and colors. e-IPS panels are very good and very affordable. There's a wide range between a $100 TN panel and a $900 Eizo. As consumers we have a lot of great choices these days, which wasn't the case 5…
I'll be there at some point (still not sure when) And I'll probably be working the Cryptic booth for some of that. Stop by and say hey if you're around. As for getting a job there. . . I tried 3 years in a row to no avail. I'll restate some of the already stated. Bring a printed Portfolio. 5 Smokin' pieces are better than…
In this documentation, I describe in-depth the Hatched Ink Shader for Unreal Engine. I aimed this shader specifically at Concept Artists, but I can also imagine a use for it on games or anything else. If you have somehow stumbled over this documentation without knowing about the shader, you can get it here:…
@ghost-d: thanks! glad u like the work! especially the cloth, since that's what's bugging me the mostest [argh!] @Ruz: about the groin. yeah i wasn't really worrying about that cuz that'll be hidden under a cloth all the time [like in my next update] i did a bit more work using refs. i think i got a better look to it, but…
Thank you so much for feedback and instructions! Yes, this is Maya and all this rigs used the same setup, to be short its 4 corrective joints for upperarms (to correct forward, back, up and down movement), 2 twist joints for each upperarm and 2 corrective joints for clavicle movement. Mesh proxies also used to make the…
