A new detail from the middle wood beams with metal rings. And just for info, I will now post the screenshots of the entire sculpt update on top of this post. It's more easy I think.
is there a shortcut to directly scale the size or strength of your brush? (I know about the alt ring, but you still have to click and drag on the dots in it) *edit* oops... nvm... rtfm *blush*
Here's a simple "Newtons Rings" / "Iridescence" material. Just requires 1 'rainbow' spectrum gradient texture. I also included an option to shift the hue to match your ideal material.
I think there's a script which evenly spaces out your edge loops. Just select a edge > ring > run the script! that's it! Maybe someone could post it, I can't find it.
You can reduce this a lot more. On the cylinder for instance, some of the smaller rings could use half the verts. Also in the handle and trigger you could use a lot fewer verts
Updated most character hardsurface bits to sub-d, added tasseled apron, and updated arm straps. Started on the hair in the back. I'll need to press the strapped rings into the flesh soon.
yea, thicken the fingers and hands and add stitches to the sides so it looks more like leather or something (many knights used leather gloves, the swords slipped in the ring mail gloves)
This reminds me of the best bits of Spongebob Squarepants, which is pretty much a ringing endorsement from me. I should see if this airs in England, I'd like to see a full episode.
You can do a simple bevel, followed by the poly split ring tool, set to multi, which uses a gradient control to define a profile. Set the gradient control to spline interpolation.
Saw this nifty thing on kickstarter.com and thought some people might find it useful if it ends up getting funded. Basically its a magnetic ring/pen holder that looks pretty useful for a stylus setup. Check the link for a video. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1107850856/penmoto-improved-and-relaunched
