Created the basemesh with Zspheres. Then started to work on the sculpting for the basic form... Ended up detailing the legs a bit too much though. Still need to fix a good amount of the proportions.
Thanks! :D It's become quite popular in the short amount of time from when it was launched, so I thought I'd put even more effort into making it a better service :)
I like the amount of details you're putting into the model but I feel like the tires are too "rounded" compared to the rest. I'm looking forward to seeing this project progress
Have you tried any 4.0 or 4.1 releases? 4.5 had a huge amount changed. 3.7 pressure sensitivity is really hit or miss, especially on non-Wacom tablets.
Surface mimic is great. I use it all the time. Most people pull elements out of photographs and use some amount of painting over top to get the look they want.
I absolutely love this concept, I was a big Spyro fan back in the day. If everything will share the amount of detail as the wagon WIP, i think this will look fantastic. Keep at it! Subbed =)
Alternatively, use the Deformation panel to resize your model up by 100 a few times, dynamesh, and resize back down by -100 the same amount if you want extra detail.
Do you mean the image 1 and 2 should be more similar? Is that not dictated in this case by the amount of displacement you set in the displace modifier (strength) and the resolution of your subdivided mesh?
A static model would mean something that does not move. As long as you don't get into the habit of having large amounts of polygons sitting inside of your model you'll be okay.
And what do you know it, as soon as I learn of this I actually need to put it into use. Works great and has amazing amount of control. This will forever be part of el workflow.
