Thanks <3 really means a lot to me. refining fur, polishing face and finished making mouthbags+teethtongue. Need to fix some anatomical stuff in the face still (ears seem to cross the brow ridge) and misc design/stylization decisions, then will wrap it up. Good time to pick hair back up and finish them now that I'm semi…
+1 on everything. Saved all your pics to my special ref folder. Sony studios usually have kinda unique workflows since the PS3 needs content/authoring to be done a little different from multiplatform engines like UE3 and Cryengine3. It's always fun to hear, like how naughty dog uses skeletal meshes for their trees to wrap…
OK guys I'm going to try and tackle this, thanks. I must admit I can't wrap my little head around it completely right off the bat cause I'm mainly trying to understand the weighting method when it comes time to skin, which i'll do right after adding the twist bones. And yes I'm using CAT. Edit : so ok, do you weight any of…
I've had this issue for a while, and I was waiting for an ideal time to bring it up. I'm working on a character at the moment who has a scarf that acts like a third arm/tentacle and is also detachable. I'm not super good at rigging or rigging theory, but I've been trucking along just fine up to this point. How can I set up…
I've been working on a bit of an update to the tool, based on some great feedback I've been getting. http://teckartist.com/?page_id=107 There's a changelist on that page, but I'll sum up the big ones: -Now you can load flowmap textures (tweak existing ones, or continue working where you left off last) -toggles for flipping…
@Shanthosa: Thanks! I think the way I did it was a bit convoluted. You can achieve the same thing by using textools & skin wrap modifier in max, although it may be a little slow... Making a nice tile-able texture and applying it afterwards would probably work almost as well for way less work. I know my explanation is a bit…
Another update - Almost done with the weapon, I was torn between the glaive and more traditional mace/sword but decided to go with the glaive aiming to be a bit more unique but still very Paladin. I'm almost wrapped up with him, I have some final tweaks to the paint, I'm going to try and pop the top areas more maybe some…
Yes you can export with modifiers such as shell or turbosmooth. But you'll want to make sure you uncheck isoline display in turbosmooth so you export proper subdivided geometry. With the shell modifier, i've used that to create wraps before, but would extrude plans around my object, then shell it, collapse and remove the…
Yeah, sounds like Xoluil already laid it out for you, but keep it short and simple. A lot of people try to do too much with their first attempt at a portfolio. They get wrapped up in the web design and forget the most important part, there art work. One page with all your images is a great way to go: Example:…
HUGE Update! ...requires a huge font, right? I've been spending an insane amount of time on this project this week as I wrap up all of the (many) loose ends, squish bugs and finish up the level design. Rather than double-post all of the images that I've uploaded today, I'm going to direct you all to the Zone project blog…
