I'm pretty sure if you save your UI as the start up or default UI it will remember this. You can also save any max file as maxstart.max in your scenes folder and it will load it each time max loads. I don't have a copy of max in front of me at the moment otherwise I would be more specific.

That's weird. Do you get the same error if you load your dds in ANY max shader? It might be that Cubemapgen doesn't save a valid dds. Or it might be that Max is messed up and doesn't load valid DDS files. Can you load one of the DDS files in Max's \maps folder? They ship with a couple DDS cubemaps.

For my arnold renders I have a few different render layers and when I render them without merging AOVs selected it creates different folders but with merge aov's selected I only get one master layer. Does merge aov's merge in render layers as well? Would I just need to extract them in nuke?
hello im trying to export 3D Studio MAX objects to md3 models to use in gtkradiant. I simply downloaded a 3D object (a car) at 3dcafe and exported it using the Pop N Fresh md3 plugin. I put it in my \models\ folder but the model doesn't loads, in Radiant. Did i missed to do soemthing in 3D Studio MAX ? thanks for any help
