I find there are a lot of needless differences on these programs. I kind of wish there was a hybrid that made the best of both worlds. That old trap between maya having space as maximize viewport translating to lock viewport in max it as perfect example of a pointless difference that throws a lot of the students/first…
"The Realm of andrew" [http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=150831] Hello I'm a student in Game 3D and I'm alone for this contest. I used 3Ds Max, Substance Painter and UE4. "Andrew is a lonely child and unsociable, I am often worried about him..." Elizabeth, Andrew's Teacher
eff that. I hate to be the negative nancy but the chances of a film made in a summer by 2 students will sell anywhere is pretty low, Drop that fool and work on your own stuff. If you really want to work on a group project find someone who can meld with better, there is no point to deal with him.
I'm a teachers assistant/student at full sail university and i guess i showed my teacher/boss that i was passionate and he vouched for me and got me brought onto the project, i was so nervous to see it but it didnt turn out that bad at all :) thanks for the comments guys!
i was thinking of student licenses probably being included in that number, that should boost the number of seats to great extent but hardly make a dent at the bottom line. they're surely trying everything to sell subscription as a great success so as to not get laughed at like adobe a few fiscal quarters ago. :)
A video of my diorama, changed a lot for compositions sake. Its very important for me if my textures can't sell it well. Anyways, sorry for the potato quality video and I'm also submitting this to Ubisoft Toronto UbiGallery for students in Ontario. [ame] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D42Q5xQNkPM[/ame]
Hi folks, this is my first post here so bear with me. I'm still a student, and this is the fourth model I've ever put together with maya, but I figured I'd throw it up here anyway. If you recognize what it's from you get a super special prize! or something
If you really want to save money, don't buy a laptop for next gen games and 3D. Save that for a nice desktop. And if you're going to spend anything over 1500, holy crap don't get an HP! Maybe when you have money to throw away, but not when you're a student.
yea the shirts make him look slightly boob-ish, but I love the shirts on him, interesting looks. This is a truly great model in my opinion. It really looks perfectly like the character from the show to me. I wish i could have been a student at that heaj place
3DS Max seems to be more popular in the games industry, though most people are comfortable working in a number of different apps. You can always download them both (they are free for students from autodesk) do some tutorials in each one and see which one you like more.
