Yeah honestly the difference between 8 bit vs 6+ FRC shouldn't be a deal breaker, but the 2414 is 6 + FRC as well. For the cost difference you can pick up a color calibrator, assuming you can find something local that is. But yeah I would probably just go for the 2515 Also, haiiiii
This. I used the service back when I was in school several years ago as some of the jobs were very easy to complete (some were as simple as just typing words from an image) and I couldn't find any work locally. As a professional service for somebody looking to make real money, this should be avoided.
*thinks Rudy's is overrated* I lived in Dallas forever and Rudy's doesn't really compare to some of the places up there. I'd rather spend a little time in the car and go up to Salt Lick if I was in the mood for BBQ. Though their breakfast tacos are nice. Austin is a great place to get fat with beer and local food.
You are so far ahead of where you should be Jess, I have worked with seasoned / experienced / veterans who cant do the things you do. Loving this, cant wait to see the final scene its going to biblical!! (Though to be fair, they did know that you could set pivot to local :P!!!)
Post pictures of your baking setup. Two things I think are happening here: 1) you are missing a projection modifier or it isn't set to use your projection modifier in the baking tab 2) you are baking in world or local space instead of tangent space (assuming you wan a tangent space map)
This seems generally localized to ATI cards. We're still trying to investigate what's causing it. In the meantime, what you'll need to do is re-bake your curvature map in a program like xNormal. Reimport your project using the new curvature map and this issue will be resolved. There is unfortunately no other workaround…
@tchuk Thank you! I agree the lines could definitely have some more line weight variation haha. I'll try focusing on that with the drawing I'm working on. For the small WIP environments, the colors are more influenced by the light at the moment but I would be willing to try variations where they are more true to their…
Mainly French: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fleur_de_sel You can buy it in the UK, it's in our local supermarket. I saw it in supermarkets when I was in Canada last week too. What was your point again? Also, why do you seem to think that ham or bacon flavoured crisps are a Spanish novelty? o_O
Pretty good article, but I think anyone who already thinks it's a good idea to build their own engine is probably going to think the article doesn't apply to them. "That's some pretty good advice for no0bs, but I took a C++ course at my local community college. I'm going to be the next John Carmack."
Jackablade, if your Maya crashes with an error saying it is crashing your file will be saved out to this folder. If it just disappears with no ram dump or error message then you are screwed. I suggest hitting Ctrl + s every time you hit a milestone in your modeling. C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp
