it actually could look through published documentation if you specifically ask it to do so. And i sometimes understand absolutely nothing in said documentations while chat does and can explain it in normal peoples language. I learned more from Chat about physics for example than I ever did from human teachers . Just to…
Thanks for your advice and the book recommendation! I'll definitely have a look at that. Regarding further advice, while it's definitely placeholder animation at the moment I'd like it not to be. So advice that causes me to backtrack really isn't an issue here and would in fact be very welcome :) As of now I corrected the…
I think there is some room for improvement as at the moment it is stiff. I think adding a bit more sway in the shoulders and some movement in the spine would help. Check out a video clip of someone walking holding a rifle in that position, even doing the motion yourself to feel the movement will help. I hope that helps,…
You will have create an sbsar. (And to adapt the inputs/outputs) We have some documentation about the specific nomenclature : http://support.allegorithmic.com/documentation/display/SPDOC/Creating+Substance+effects We have neither of these two feature for the moment. The second one is most likely to be added first. I can't…

Oh dear I completely forgot I had a thread for this going. So it's years later, but I did actually resurrect this project to finish it off (I'm as surprised as you are). I carried it over to UE5 and then set up a bunch of physics driven movement, made an animation and called it done. https://vimeo.com/875856331?share=copy…
For the moment I'd suggest pause this project and perhaps attempt a simpler object to practice on! maybe SxS shotgun since ergonomic shapes i.e. butt-stock, tapered barrel etc... appear to be an issue, especially using a polygonal modeling workflow alongside other info that people had already shared here
unfortunately, i have to go to some places today... some1s house for a lunch party and then a job interview [3d shit w00t] so i only had time for a quickie... in case ur wondering, i want to pump out at least SOMETHING each day Industrial Wonders this one is more like the first one i posted.... er... its like 3 factories,…
I can't speak to traditional, but for digital sculpting what helped me improve is documentation and consistency; it's difficult to gauge if you've improved, and by how much, if you don't have before/after images. Improving is a physical transformation, much like working out. You're remapping how your brain thinks and…
Pretty sure the film industry has the same cultural test for their tax breaks too, which has been going on for years with great success and bought stability to our vfx industry. In fact it's pissing people off as most people now come to the uk to film and places like LA have completely down sized, with studio space down…
