MattiasG- Hey, your fight loop is looking pretty good so far, i know its a WIP and your probably already doing this, but you might want to pick up the tempo a bit. some of the jumps/dives seem a bit slow. and those body mechanic rigs from Joe Daniels are tons of fun, and very cheep for all your getting i think. The best piece of advice I can give you is to video tape yourself. Then, by putting it in slowmotion or frameBYframe. Observe how many frames it takes for your foot to go from point A->B [total frames or timing of the action]. Then, where the spacing of the foot is positioned in between those frames. Notice where it eases…

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJVlh3IeB3k"]centaur wip2 - YouTube[/ame] early progress of what I'm doing with these mad characters.. the red hellboy guy (I'm a LoL player..) only has his fullbody keys…
@Texelion, you should join in! I think it would be awesome if you posted any animations you made @slipsius, I'll be the first to agree with you that the Timing and Spacing[among other things] were sacrificed for speed during these run cycles -Skeletal rigs were done in 3dsmax(simple biped) Models belong to: -Mr. Incredible…
I just found this thread. So much good and inspiring work! I'm a rookie student and I've been doing modeling the most so far. This week we were given a very quick brief into animation and using non linear modifiers in Maya. I couldn't resist, and have tried my best to make a rig for a ball and a box and make them more like…
E_ensey - looking good :) was looking at those rigges the other day. Having thoughts to buy that kit :) Can you recommend them ? Stephen! You have inspired me to try make a battle animation loop! It´s hard and annoing xD But at the same time really fun :) Here is a WIP on it. Pls everyone, I would really enjoy some…
hi guys, great to see this thread is still going ;) Stephen, your 2d animation is really nice, great timing. How do you start on that? what software do you use? I would love to experiment with that to block out my timing and some poses. JDunay: I think it would be good to make a rig, even if it's something simple. Your…
Started this one as a 20 min challange. But after 20 min it looked pretty stupid. Played a bit more with it and ended up with this. Took maybe about 3-4 hours. Fun thing; the shatter effect took me more time to figure out than the acctual animation process xD So if anyone have a good tip on how to simulate a cool shatter…
Oh oh my. Awesome thread. I'm an aspiring animator willing to get his place in this harsh but sweet industry... Tears of joy are falling down as I scroll this topic. Stephen, you are a big inspiration right now for me. Never thought to see a professional doing blockings that nice in 20 mins.:) And I'm surprised. You don't…
Quick rigging is definatly the reason, and something I completly overlooked. With future rigs Ill make sure to correct this issue. I also read your post on steam, in reguards to the skinning. I'm pulling these files from the game, so these characters are pre-skinned to the bones, I'm simply adding a control rig. But the…
