I remember following this guys thread over at conceptart.org ages ago... It was an inspiration to see someone change their skill so dramatically over time. Here's a link to it if you're curious: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php/870-Journey-of-an-Absolute-Rookie-Paintings-and-Sketches
Anal Avatar FTW! this anus got me a job. of course, i had to explain it at the interview... my inspirations, reference sources, that sort of thing. If you hadn't pointed it out, I'd have never known your guy was holding up a middle finger.
Fantastic, inspiring work here. Any chance you could post your textures? Even shrunk down, I'm just curious how you are tackling some things. Same goes with lighting/shaders. best of luck in your job hunt! B
Still chipping away at this slowly. Went for a walk in the park today which was kind of inspiring I'm not too sure what I'm going to do about the bark... not too happy with how it looks so far. I'll also put a gradient on the tree, like this

As a Modo user I just wanna drop in and say thank you so much for making all of these. I really like this format of tutorial, short and to the point and only covers one thing. I'm inspired to make some in a similar style for zBrush and Unity.
the simple muscle system in euphoria isn't as sexy as sliding under skin and bulging/stretching but the ragdoll fidelity from it along with the "self preservation" ai is pretty inspiring next gen. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HauN98naZ9U"]NaturalMotion's Euphoria - YouTube[/ame]

Thanks guys, really inspirational. I've asked on other sites and they make it seem like you HAVE to be a environment artist to get hired. just trying to put in perspective what im trying to do here, hoping its not similar as trying to get into 'hollywood'
I really like your portfolio and being able to view your assets in 3d space is quite nice. As an environment lover, your The waste piece is really cool, extremely well composed and edited...good music choice too A++ work Inspirational stuff !
