Done in the texture phase, ala CrazyBump? Or just leave the wood feeling flat, and put the grain in purely on the Diffuse.

your light metal is too light make the diffuse way darker and use the reflections and spec to brighten it up

This is suposed to be a building for a RTS game. It's pretty low poly, 588 tris and 512x512 diffuse- and ambient occlusion maps.

yea it should be pretty simple to do that, just use render to texture and select diffuse instead of normal map.
