Scheduled Maintenance [Updated]
At 9:00 PM Central, the site is going down for 30 to 60 minutes for some server maintenance. No worries, we'll be back. The Polycount Minecraft server will doing it's own reboot on Jun 2nd. Dunno what improvements id like to see to one of the best deathmatch games ever made... Seriously, just play quakelive? When i find myself in awe at an underground cavern in minecraft and happily go off exploring I really start to question people who focus so heavily on graphics. -

I was thinking the same thing! My guess is that we'd get a simplified minecraft with HD graphics. ;) I was super exited when i saw the announcement, then got all "MEH.." when i read it was gonna be a FPS. Who knows? It might turn out to be a good game.. But I'm not holding my breath. -
Fragmented Reflection effect.
So, Halo: Reach has this cool effect for reflections on this Forerunner base: Look real close at the texture, every pattern is reflecting a cube map but in between the pattern they have hard edges for the pixels like Minecraft. Its weird how this has gone from a discussion about dream jobs, to a discussion about player psychology :D I really like the idea of building games with fairly realistic game play, something like Life is feudal, but more interactivity would be fun. I like games like Minecraft and TUG. -

Yeah, I've been noticing that I'm nearly at the point where I don't play games anymore. With my 9-5 job, freelance, and plans for personal projects, I don't really have a lot of free time. Besides, making 3d models is like playing terraria/minecraft, only more fun :pleased:
