woke up this morning myself and rushed to my e-mail inbox to no happiness :'(, It's supposed to be crazy volume for them to deal with: So I am going to try and brainwash myself with dynamesh amnesia. As painful as the wait is now that it's being distributed. Free upgrades like this make me happy I commited to Zbrush.…
Man, I think I could have literally saved myself weeks of work if I'd had this at the start of the year. I guess given that's weeks less pay, it might be for the best. There's some fantastic tools in this new lot. The Slice Curve is worth the upgrade along. The Dynamesh thing is a bit peculiar. It seems to force you into…
Yeah my email came in. Clay polish is fantastic and it basically chops down on the time you go from roughing in major forms over to the detailing phase. Cleaning things up, smoothing without changing the forms of your mesh is basically done with a click of a button. Very slick feature. I'm also pretty impressed by the…
Finally someone made a video explaining the workings of DynaMesh rather than just a demo of the cool shit you can do with it. Up until this point I wasn't sure if it was truly dynamic like Sculptris or if it used some other system. Turns out they're doing it differently, as always. :D Seems like it's a smarter and easier…
My reaction to seeing that video was pretty much similar to the end of this video! http://youtu.be/c9eGtyqz4gY All Zbrush needs to do now is to make a retopo tool that works similar to the UV master tool. Paint in loop guides with one color, general poly flow with another and hit the GO button to remesh.. oh dear god how…
got mine yesterday and i love it so much. i'm so excited to render things! (i jest...) i have to admit that after announcing this release as a "renderer" update, this has turned out to be one of my favorite updates so far. zbrush 4 overall hadn't impressed me much, but i love the speed of dynamesh and i love clay polish.…
I managed to figure it out, apparently there WAS a curve in my mesh. You can't see it unless you have a curve brush selected but the brush size/color still flips when you mouseover it and you can't actually edit/change the curve... really stupid. Anyway go up to the stroke menu and under the Curve Mode there's a big button…
I tried the older versions of 3D coat where you could draw in lines fairly quickly that it would use. But thats still more hastle than I like since it breaks up the creative flow when sculpting. You have to export the model, go through atleast half an hour of backs and forts and experimentations for getting the edgeloops…
Gusti what you are talking is beyond what any retopology or digital sculpting app can do these days. Maybe within the next 5 to 10 years we could see such advancements where you don't have to deal with any technical aspects of the program but until then we as digital artist will have to deal with them. I remember 5 or 6…
