I agree number 2 seems the most realistic, I think the others are to small sharp and evenly spaced. working on the aston martin rapide highpoly, still lots of stuff to add/adjust. Wheels and rims are placeholder.
Im going to do a weld seam and came upp with these, wich one do you think look best/ most realistic? Dont care so much about the scale more about how it look. :poly121:
As a general comment, this is simply really bad advice. Unless you have a physically accurate renderer, and material system... Then you can start worrying about how realistic or correct colored spec is. This is *generally* not the case in games, though.
Those hatch shaders are awesome looking ace Rayph, i'm getting a real WOWish feel on the design but i think it would work great both in handpainted 3d and more realistic 3d. small value study from earlier today
Oh man revender i'm sad to hear that you will be calling it quits on this piece. I like it a lot, a lot of character and believability to it! Seems like you have a great grasp on realistic possibilities of other universes, i hope this post makes you change your mind!
Yes I did sculpt most of the scales individually. I outline them using the standard brush and then I go back and fill in each scale with the clay brush and to get those tight squeezes in there I used the pinch brush to make the scales look more realistic.
@yaxx, since this is far from being a realistic setting, the shadow scaling is just a mere effect to support the cartoony art style :) just have a look at classics like looney tunes, they just do exactly the same I am on Noors' side here, fuck logic :D
I needed a distraction from all of the realistic textures and high poly modeling and baking... so I went and did my first stylized hand painted tiling wood texture... I was trying to go for a light water color wash look with soft wood grain texture.
I wouldn't say this needs to be realistic in so many aspects. However I raised the water line a bit, reduced the number of guns, placed them differently.. I'm starting on the lowpoly as you can see sort of still flushing out idea's in one part while I'm starting the other.
I'm so productive ! Decided to re-do the sling on my Remington 870 for a more realistic look and better visual details. Now I just have to make the actual sling, which is gonna take a while I suppose... I'm not good with splines at all. :( Edit:// These are the high-poly models btw.
