Lots of tests here: First Normal Map, First time using Xoliul's Shader (thanks man), Umm yeah thats about it. One of my first time texturing too... only diffuse and normal (*cough* used diffuse for spec and gloss *end cough*)
Messing around with marmoset toolbag, with diffuse and normal, no specular. Still a bit of work to do on the diffuse, like removing some of the excess scratches and adding some finer detail here and there, but I'd like to think that I'm almost done with it. As always, any comments and suggestions are appreciated. cheers!
THIS PAGE IS DIAMONDS! Here's my Snusmumrik/Snufkin WIP. Getting colored. I am a big fan of painting the diffuse map directly in mudbox. It takes some getting used to, but I very much like painting the diffuse on top of a visible normalmap, onto a model that will be wearing it.
A quick question about emissive maps: do they override the diffuse colour? if so, is there no need for diffuse detail in emissive areas? if not, what's the point of colour in emissive maps? why not greyscale? oh and... does a specular colour map override the purpose of a spec levels map? haha this has been bugging me :)
