Almost finished detailing this lamp post based on a concept from "Captain Blood." Many thanks to Jason Lavoie for letting me pick his brain on this. Still needs some ropes and skulls :-)
With permission of Crate Entertainment Some things proportional I need to fix still , but Still chugging along (The micro ropes and the fire torch + Skull spikes are separate assets not yet made at this time)
Hmmm I am honestly not seeing how they look backwards looking. They look like they bend the same way as they do in the concept. Maybe I'm totally missing something? Maybe its just the boring no pose he is in thats throwing you off? If you want to show me how you think he legs should look im totally cool with that :) Also,…
Dan, that's looking pretty rad. feels like the center of the blade needs more upward attention given that the skull is turned up. Dem badass engravings! Flushing out a gun I sketched a few days ago.
Fuse - Thats one badass superman, great work! Only crit, is the back of the skull looks a little flat perhaps / lacking volume? Dan - Sweet bust, eyes are a little far apart maybe, other than that - cool!
Just started a kind-of-alien-creature.....it is annuaki-inspired. did not turned out to look so well, and i think the back-skull is a liiiiiittlebit exaggerated. (the head is just a placeholder-shape.) C&C 4 a ZBrush/Character newbie?
Jeremy: incredible style, I love it! a couple of anatomical points: check the origin and insertion points of your sternocleidomastoids. it should insert behind the ear at the base of the skull and originate more directly at the end of the clavicle. It looks quite detached right now.
Whats up with his skull? Looks like there is a second layer of skin over it, something covering up the teeth which would continue going straight; they just seem to...stop. Also normally the 'handle' is orientated the other way, so it can be gripped properly.
Looks nasty Josh :) just a personal note from someone who had to make a ton of fish for his last game, always use photo ref over illustrated, I kow this guy isn't around anymore but his nasty-ass skull is.
I'd have said that if your planning on adding some chaos style stuff then you're base is perfect. you dont want things to get too busy(gotta have focal points and rest areas). some skulls and spikes and chains modelled well will really set it off.
