I'm on CS2 as well and the controls seem to work great. Lots of potential there, but when I run something through nDo, I get an offset of the stuff in the image (around 30 pixels). Like this: EDIT - I tried resetting my prefs and it worked for me. yay. now to actually use it. Thanks again chaps
xXm0RpH3usXx: Thanks for the effort anyways :p It works for me on CS4 here. You mean like, after you closed the file before and you want to continue editing your normals? I usually select the "Z-shift" layer, then run Ndo. It even works on my test file that was created with one of the first nDo versions :D
Just got the new version Ted - use it daily at work, tis awesome. However witht he very latest version when I run nDo it doesn't place the layers between the Z-Shift and the Plane layers. THerefore its all blue until I move the layer between em and F3 again. Bug or am I doing summet wrong? Cheers :D
I still get this very same error message. And no popup is showing up. Your trick didn´t work. Did anyone find another solution. This way it seems very uncontrollable. I am using Photoshop CS3, 32 BIT on windows XP. It was running once fine, but since i did the latest update i got this error message. Thanks for any help.
Thanks for the tool and tutorial! I realize you might not have been able to test it on a mac setup, but I'm only able to change one value before nDo loses focus and my entire Photoshop UI becomes unclickable. I have to press Esc to close the nDo window and run it again to change another setting, so fine tuning is pretty…
Just wanted to reported I am also having issues with Ndo. Running Win 7 64 bit, CS5.1 (extended version) and whenever I try to do a transform or an instantiate the Ndo dialogue goes away and puts PS is in a frozen state. Hitting ESC brings back the dialogue. I've triple checked that I've installed this correctly. I've even…
xXm0RpH3usXx, This is the way nDo works by design. Adding a higher frequency normal on top will immediately fill these noise gaps. If you do however want a single smooth normal layer with very low frequency detail only, simply blur the image before making it into a normal map. A small update of nDo has been released,…
Thanks everyone for the great feedback and all the nice comments! There is now hopefully a fix for the issues that have been mentioned. Just go to Philip's site and download the updated ZIP and you should be good to go! The problem most of you are having... Error 24: activeDocument.suspendHistory is not a function. Line:…
Sorry for the noob stuff. I've seen the tutorial located here about using this tool: http://www.philipk.net/tutorials/ndo/ndo.html But I am unsure of the workflow to be used.Let me describe what I think the flow is in my own words. I am primarily wanting to use this for tank skins/textures so wouldnt need anything crazy.…
I have the exact same issue as Snowfly. I'm also on Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6.4) and CS4. My computer is a 2008 penryn model Macbook Pro(4.1), with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and nVidia GeForce 8600M GT. I extracted the nDo folder into my Photoshop application directory (I reloaded the script inside PS as instructed), although…
