#XenoKratios: I've never had a teacher lol. I learnt everything I know from two men tho: Andrew Loomis and Glenn Vilppu! They are the best. @naturon: Thank you for that wonderful comment! Today's update: I can't draw hair.
... Today's Update. Well I lost my job today (QA job) due to a work shortage. Oh well, I was prepared for this. And at least now I have more time to study. On the bright side, I managed to make a charcoal drawing at work.
Thanks ENODMI! .... Today's Update: My first 3D post here I think. :) I'm learning the fundamentals right now (texturing), so my model is appearing quite naked at the moment. Any help would be appreciated! Concept drawing: Model: Render:
@kevlar jens: Your sculpting also puts me to shame. Thanks tho! @Ravenslayer: Thanks! @Joseph Silverman: I generally think little and just squint / filter as much as possible. My goal is to use straight lines and curved lines one after the other in the simplest fashion until I see the shape of a human body. Of course it…
@acapulco: Thanks, I think I will try this next. I'm getting tired of charcoal and my difficulties in controlling it (heavy handedness). @SimonT: I normally just draw with a 4B Lumograph. Sometimes 2B. Today's sketch..... I'm heavy handed, or just mentally limited without a mentor.
@suburbbum: Thanks. Me too actually, I've never had a chance to work from live model. I always just draw from photograph. ... Today's Update: Some more charcoal on newsprint. Trying to retain as much Hampton technique as I can while its still fresh. :p
Not right now, I'm actually going back to school to study 3D animation and CGI. My previous job was in quality assurance lol. And to answer your second question, I try to put in a minimum of 20 hours a week. But to be honest, at some point, the only thing on my mind is either drawing something or figuring out how to draw…
BEAST, fantastic stuff here, very impressed. Could you do us a favor and edit the last few posts with the image embedded for read(/view)ability? You can wrap img tags around a polycount attatchment link! Can you share anything about your (mental) process with these poses? Also, about what size are the pencil drawings?
Wonderful sketches, specially those made on pencil. Yeah, the transition from pencil to tablet it's terrible - I myself I'm not done yet, although many years has passed since my first digital attempt. But why don't you use the best of two worlds? Make your initial drawing on pencil, scan and paint in PS? It works very well…
Damn dude, great lighting/shading in your 2d art! Surprised I missed this thread... The squirrel is alright, but I think the model could use some work. Namely the eyes. They don't seem like a part of the face, they just seem like some spheres you plopped in. I think they curve way too much (makes him look bug-eyed. not at…
