Is there any way to set up hotkeys to add modifiers in edit mode? (not applying). When i set up hotkey for the mirror modifier for instance, it only works on object mode.
GhostDirector use array modifier and set it to "fit curve" and then change offset to whatever axis you want it to go in. You can then use Curve modifier to deform to shape of the curve
I don't think I'd want that in Blender. 3DS Max keep many things in your modifier panel that should be collapsed because it can crash if you edit a lower level modifier (i.e. modifying the primitive after adding edit mesh, etc.). By committing you to your settings the first time, it makes it more stable.
