Thanks, I've seen this error as well but had difficulty reproducing it reliably, I'll investigate more tonight. For now, what I think should work is making sure you have on of your objects selected when you press bake.
@EQ, Thanks for the clarification :) so one smoothing group should be ok for that mesh? the picture above is from the viewport, though the render displays similar results. Should the normal map compensate for these errors 100% in the viewport and the renderer? I will post the .blend soon :)
That's definitely an issue also with the 2.7x versions I have used to set up my own pie menus. Sometimes it took a bit of googling through the reference or try & error - and in a few cases I had to ask the PME author to get to the right command.
@melviso The first issue is probably caused because of rounding errors. Check the math that separates the UV into squares. As for the inputs, you would disconnect the noodles from the value nodes and instead put them into the node group input. You can then set default values for them.
I've been messing around with 2.5+ for a while and actually really liking it. I keep, sometimes getting an error when I bake where it says 'No objects or images found to bake to' and I can't work out what I'm doing to break or fix it. Any ideas?
Yeah you are right. I corrected myself. I consider myself a fairly good English speaker, but I am not a native speaker. Sometimes small errors like that sneak through. And have you seen the last page of this thread? Your post reads as if you did not.
While baking with cages would be ideal (and i still use xnormal, because of this and its speed), you can still get some pretty decent results without them. I did a bake test with (Distance 0.00, Bias 0.010). There are a few errors, but it certainly does very well. :)
Just tried it with the latest build on GraphicAll and one from the linked site, still getting errors. Maybe I'm doing this wrong? I'm going into user preferences > input > import key configuration... and loading up the .py file from my desktop (maybe it needs to be placed in a specific directory first?).
@rollin Maybe this: Menu Object->Convert to->Mesh from Curve/etc->F9->Keep Original or (same thing) Ctrl+A->Visual Geometry to Mesh->F9->Keep Original [Mod Edit]: your text-to-speech addon went a little nuts here, so I deleted the wall of error text
I keep getting the "no active image found" error when I try to bake a diffuse map in Blender Cycles, despite implementing the typically-given fix of adding a texture node referencing the file I want to bake to in each material, and having no empty material slots. Are there any other typical causes of this problem?
