In case anyone is working in a High-Poly Scene and their viewport is slowing to a crawl.. Two methods I've used to increase the viewport's responsivity are: 1)Select your meshes in the scene & Turn off Double Sided Normals (Under the modifier tab) 2)In the user prefs -> System -> Check VBOs (Except when scrubbing through…
There is a tool inside the "3D Viewport Pie Menus" addon called "Edit Align Pie" that can make those snaps a breeze, unfortunately, the tool is really slow with high poly meshes, I did recreate the tool functionality by macroing scale to 0 to active element inside "Pie Menu Editor" and works much better.
bit of an update to my uv-addon. slowly reaching a usable state. drawing code might need some attention as it gets quite slow on higher poly counts. Preferences are needed as well, for things like.. colors. And then I really have to do some unwrapping and see how it works.…
Does anyone know faster and easier way of "spherifying" flat surfaces? Right now I need to * Detach surface * Enable proportional editing * Move central vertex up * Disable proportional editing * Move surface back * Merge vertices Which is slow and surface doesn't stay in place making it harder to match a reference
Is there any good solution to retopology within blender without paying $80 for Blendercookies toolset? I tried Retopo MT and I can't stand it. The only alternative I can see is to use Blender's projection snapping with standard modeling tools and shrinkwrap, which is incredibly slow. For $80 I may as well just buy topogun.
The interface keeps getting better and better. You can now enable transparency for the side panels, and sculpting can push 25 million polygons with very little slow down if you toggle the right right settings. On Blender Artist forums, one user was showing off 100 million polys in sculpt mode. That's pretty darned…
I'd really like for custom orientations to auto clear every time i make another one.Anyone has any use for entire lists of custom orientations ? I mean i know i can manually delete them but it's still too slow, i'd rather have the current one clear when i define another one .
Yeah, I really like the direction he's going with it so far. I think it'll remove a lot of the steep learning curve problems of Blender. He still has more stuff planned in this email - but progress on it has been kind of slow since he's busy with other stuff. Just the way volunteer work goes I suppose.
Has anyone tested blender for sculpting with 16gb of ram vs 32gb if it has too much difference, I have 16 and thinking about upgrade. BTW 2.92 seems to be a bit faster for sculpting, also there was a bug that would reset your brush settings with CTRL Z even remove textures on the brush, it's fixed now. The decimate…
Please tell me theres a better way to do retopology than shrinkwrap and face snapping with basic modeling tools? Not having a good time with this, extrusion snapping is very unreliable and I've been cleaning it up with shrinkwrap, a lot of relaxing, and by grabbing individual verts to snap them back to the surface. It's…
