Well, the links I posted shows he has already been developing stuff. Several of his patches are already in for the 3.2 release. Plus, Project Heist aims to improve pbr/texture paint/baking workflows. So I would imagine improved UV editing is related to that.
I am not enough of an expert to say exactly how sound the methods presented in [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiNCMY58foA"]this[/ame] video series are, but I've been using the PBR shader I made from the series to plan out and test general ideas about my materials before I send my models to Substance.
You're not the only one. I actually wondered that exact thing just one page earlier in this thread. It's such an important map to plug in, among with base color (albedo), roughness, metalness and normals. It's so weird that there's no input for that. SSAO is great in Eevee, but it's not enough. Couldn't find info about by…
@wilson66 On the topic of Eevee/principled shader not displaying pbr content correctly : if I am not mistaken, merely plugging the maps into the default slots will not work - or at best things will be plugged, but with the wrong settings. However if you go into the node editor and set things up correctly there (non-color…
He also stated: "By "PBR" I just mean the prettiest shader I could muster in Blender's viewport ;)" Specular transition is easy to implement, roughness...not so much. Another things missing are energy conversation and the way reflections behave (you know all that flipping and stretching) [I could be wrong on this one]. I…
Hey guys, I updated my Bake panel for Blender 2.8 I've been using it as my main baking setup for the past year, it's saved me a whole lot of clicks, so I hope someone gets some use out of it as well! get it here: https://github.com/leukbaars/BRM-BakeUI example screenshot, baking down Occlusion, Color and Roughness from…
For those that have tried Eevee (the PBR viewport of 2.8), have you noticed getting a different result on screen than the demos that are around? There's these demo scenes: https://www.blender.org/2-8/#try-it-yourself If I load the "Race Spaceship" scene it looks very different from the pictures, with the scene almost all…
Hello all - It just occurred to me that the interface drawing performance in 2.8+ differs greatly between Solid mode and Eevee/PBR mode (called "Material Preview"). In Solid mode, manipulating UI panels is about as smooth as it was in 2.7x ; yet in Eevee things slow down significantly, regardless of the content of the…
@derphouse : still in dev : https://developer.blender.org/D1465 @fmdbl : I didn't test myself the 2.46 and what exactly are the boost but I've already link test video who shows great perfs (object mode) : [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7rcKQ39cIA[/ame] So yes, that's the early steps, one of the main task of 2.8…
@Linko : as usual, my suggestion would be for you to greatly simplify the way you present your tools, and this one is no exception. Based on this screenshot the look seems interesting, but the description goes to great lengths to make things waaaaaaaay more complicated than they need to be. In short : What is the input ?…
