The bigest problem is that Blender doesn't allow you to customize the shortcuts. The tools are there...but it's very hard to get to them in an efficient manner.
It is not the same fuction of hardedges, well, it is not ONLY that. Here looks like you have marked all the edges as hard-edges, than you assign the "face" option to all the faces, but this is meanless, once you setted the hard edges the vertex normals works correctly by default. the face option is intend to be used to…
@Leilei hm, I mostly use Unity, I'll take a look to see how to resolve your issue. Great work about hard ops Masterxeon1001, Pitiwazou made also some nice pie menus to go with : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNAm7TKfdD8 And here's a nice timelapse using hard ops : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bD-HiA7LCw
I don't get the purpose of the Autosmooth option to be honest. I never used that. I just set the mesh to smooth shading in the T panel and mark the edges hard that should be hard and finally add a edge split modifier. That always worked for me. Still it bugs me not to understand what that auto smooth thing is useful for,…
Never use the edge split modifier just to sharpen edges these days. Instead, go to the vertex attributes tab in the properties editor (it's the one with the triangle on it) and enable Auto Smooth and set the angle to 180 degrees so only edges you mark as sharp will be sharpened. This method doesn't tear apart your mesh and…
It's not that A is hard to reach, it's that it just seems like an unnecessary hotkey that could be replaced with a context sensitive click. Anyway thank you for the answers!
