If anyone is interested, I created a script for Blender 2.65, Maya 2013, and Softimage 2013 called Version Save. Basically, every time you run the script, it will check how old the file is. If it is over 5 minutes old, it creates a new version. This should hopefully help prevent against lost work from corrupted files. Bind…
Got the normal map effect for transition area of the iris. Left side is the new version, right side old version. Oh and I think the right side has it's cube map rotated incorrectly, also been fixed. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN9alIFB-d4[/ame]
Never had the chance to share anything about this tool, so here's a quick test :) The tool is Array Master, an array tool for Maya that doesn't require Mash, so works on old Maya version. It is part of AMTools 2.0, which is still in dev ^^' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CyASH4bsao
back to 3dsmax ... :p [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzjRZcg8zxY[/ame] now Im testing out camera bake maxscript with imagemagick http://www.imagemagick.org/ ( its an old stuff but i just knew about it lol ) it can do many kind of image batch processing :D
For now it will be this blocky style due to time constrain, but I would like to be able to put in more functionality for more soft and bulgy shapes with more noise. The way I create my cracks is fairly inviting for other styles of shapes too. This is a few days old, but this is the general breakdown before I tessellate…
Hmm I havent see that id tech demo. It made me realize that this is really the same as megatextures. I changed the way it renders and now it calculates over 1000 times faster :P The old method was pretty hacky. It can calculate a 2048x2048 atlas in about 25 seconds, although most of that time is generating a "VectorMap"…
I've been working on a de-chamfer / un-chamfer script for 3DSMax lately. I was looking around for a way to do this in Max and the only stuff I could find was one old script from a decade ago with no working links anymore, and one that's part of a larger paid for toolset (and doesn't look like it can handle chamfers that…
started my first c# code with unity as a R&D project (board game) I am old school which is why I want to do the pathfinding myself and just based on a square grid (simple array). Messing with c# sure involves some pain, to many restrictions :( Voxel stuff is on a hold as my project leader thinks it has enough potential at…
That's cool. In Photoshop I've been using a script which sets up a layer rig to blend the normal maps correctly, it's part of the normally blue panel. https://gumroad.com/l/NormallyPanel I beleive the NM Blue2 button blends them correctly like the old Quixel tools did. I set a hotkey for the script so I can toggle the…
Cool stuff RumbleSushi. Looks like you've nailed it. I had loads of browser windows open in chrome and it ran perfect. That was on a fairly bodgey old laptop as well. What's your demo coded in out of interest? I also wanted to post another light volume test. This one features an animated character so it's been a lot of fun…
