Update: @3DVlad Those cuts are actually the engine holder, but i made them really sloppy. I think, I will revise this part as soon as possible, looks pretty ugly right now.
You could isolate the part you want to beatup, then apply a fairly rigid cloth type simulation and push collider meshes into it then freeze the cloth engine for your result or grab a free trial of mudbox
Always love seeing new stuff from you kite. The armor and face of the forest king are really nicely done. Been spending some time lately learning the render engine in Modo. Sculpt and textures done in Mudbox.
I have made a base model for the not-so-fancy simulator graphics engine at my job. It only has a diffuse map since the Cal3D plugin we're using only supports this. Next thing to do is to animate this little fellow:
Blockout of the legs done, and exterior jet form pretty much constructed (small hole in the side to fill in and the engines aren't done yet) *edit( Bleh, i wasn't going to post this render because i think it's crap, but here you go anyway
Pretty much nearly done, time to learn some higher end rendering so I can get some good shots of this dude. Have to say, Marmo engine handles cartoony stuff really well, probably one of the best I've seen imo.
This is looking pretty stylised at the moment. Man hair is hard to do. I think i'll work in some photosource for use in the spec and stuff, should help a bit. Also going to put some alpha'd planes for wild bits. Any suggestions would be sick though. ArmaII engine
The teeth on those random gears are like, so small it'd render a weapon totally prone to failure and ridiculously difficult to make... Plus, they'll just turn to noise at any reasonable distance from the camera. I suggest upping the scale of the teeth. Anyway, the arma2 engine is actually really nice to make previews in
Thats actually the worst way of doing shaded wireframe shots...considering this is a game-artist board, the best way might be doing a screenshot with a realtime shader or from an engine...if you insist on rendering it, use a composite material (3ds Max) with a wire Material in the second slot...no need for a copy of the…
Thanks for the comments guys. Mladen: Yes, the render was done in Modo. The render engine is pretty intuitive to use and all the features are well-documented in the help files, so you can learn it pretty quickly. It helps a lot if you're already familiar with Modo more generally. Zwebbie: Great texture work on Dorothy. Her…
