trying to finish up my killer croc that i started for comic con. does anyone know why he often has cloth wrapped around his arms? i'm debating if i want to bother doing them. his pants still need lots of work
aesir: Looks awesome, could i see it from a different angle? the texture is looking good so far, my only crit would be to maybe have the side pockets wrap around to the front a bit, that area looks kind of empty. Also, i'd dirty up the bandage over the eye a bit.
Haha. And yeah, that octopus is bad ass. I was thinking of doing one in a similar fashion wrapped over a treasure chest for another illustration. Since I love me some bones, that was going to be added in too. Looks like I'm gonna scrap that idea now though haha. Won't compare to that badass bit of 3d. Kudos
Cheers, will get those points looked at :) I was intending on detatching the quads in modo after the sculpt's done, but it turned out easy enough to do inside of ZBrush. I'll thicken up the divide so it's more obvious. I think it's some sort of thick rubber rather than armour plating. Still to do the wrappings and bandages…
For the Dominance War base mesh challenge at GA. Tied to get a really unique silohette. Failed on keeping all quads but most modelers did, only have a few tris mostly well hidden. Learned a few things, started monday night and wrapped it up last night. Haven't put this many polys into a mesh for quite awhile. Still…
I assume the handle where the bow is held is in between the jaws. If that's the fact (and it should be because it's fucking impossible to not hold a bow in the middle when you draw it back) then you could think about adding a place to nock the arrows in. Most people don't balance an arrow on their fingers. Detail ideas:…
Track length is exactly 4m. I've placed pebbles on one side of the track segment, merged them together, copied and moved by 4 meters to the other side. I've left a small overlap on highpoly model. Then baked a normalmap That's all. I'd like to export it to Railworks game, tracks pieces over there are 4m long. It will allow…
-Spitty Guys looking bad ass! I'd say go with the wraps, or some variant of them. Maybe a tattered reminiscent of a old torn up trench coat like he is always wearing in the cartoon before he'd rip it off and attack the bats. Think it might break up some of the scale work. I always like the way draping stuff looks though.…
@ Kevin Johnstone-- I understand and agree w/ you on the ergonomics.. the handle detail was derived straight from the concept drawing. I thought it was a pretty cool addition to the over all design, so i had to add it.. granted, in real life, it would never be comfortable.. but if you look at Arthas in the WotLK cinematic,…
ericv: Thanks man...I agree totally I found this out first hand. It seems if bevel to close to the original edge the normal map has trouble interpreting which side to place to smoothness of the edge. On a lot of my edges I kept the bevel to sharp as you said and it caused some issues. As I started to finish I began to…
